love-hate

What I love...
The smell of wood-smoke...the touch of someone special...the sound of rain...the taste of ice-cold cola...the sound of genuine laughter...the freedom to say what I think...being understood...the feeling of being loved...the butterflies of being in love...the hope of heaven...the awareness of grace...the feeling of soft warm sand between my toes...being able to communicate in a different language...being accepted for who I am...being proud to be an American...being free to think European...knowing God is my security...feeling at rest in strong arms...going swimming in the ocean...wearing a bikini without being judged...feeling sexy and attractive...being strong enough to persevere... saying no to unhelpful options...making my own decisions...giving to someone I love...receiving gifts I don’t deserve...reading about God’s love for me...being hugged by a child.

What I hate...

Limitations and the pain of separation...the sound of fingernails on a chalkboard...racism and political correctness gone mad...misunderstanding and condemnation...guys who flirt but don’t commit...drivers who don’t indicate/signal...the smell of dung...difficult classes who gang up on teachers...buzzing insects around your head at night...adrenalin rushes when I’m trying to sleep...church over-commitment and the judgement of my spiritual life according to what I do rather than Whose I am...the lie that to move around a lot is equal to a lack of commitment...unwillingness to grow or learn...my own sin...worry...Satan...fear of following through a choice made...lack of freedom to be angry...feeling I am despised...the thought of anyone being lost in [any kind of]hell.
