Ginger hair; Irish roots

Flogging Molly in Las Vegas 2012
I have always loved Irish/Celtic music, and Irish or Scottish country dancing.  I think I feel it in my blood deep down that I am part Irish, amongst many other things, and it shows in my reddish hair, for which I am proud.

I am sad my husband couldn't share the moment with me last night when I got to see Flogging Molly in concert in Vegas, but it was fun to sit at the back and watch the show instead of smashed at the front of the mosh-pits.  The dancing and crowds were part of the show, and it was a fun experience.  Though hubby is deployed in Afghanistan, I'm glad I made myself go and enjoy it with another mom; it's been a while since I had a girls' night out, and this was special time.

In honor of St. Paddy's Day, here are some words from the song "Float" by Flogging Molly that have a lot of meaning for me and my life.

"Singled out for who you are,

It takes all types to judge a man,

Feel... That's all you can.

Filthy suits with bigot ears,

Hide behind their their own worst fears,

Live... That's all you can.

It's all you can.

It's all you can... do.

No matter where I put my head,

I wake up feeling sound again,

Breathe... It's all you can.

Tomorrow smells of less decay,

The flowers create this blooming fray,

Be thankful... That's all you can."
